Over the last few years we have had the privilege of created covers for each of Douglas Castle’s archeological mystery books. Since each was it’s own novel, the goal was to keep a consistent style while also making each stand out from the rest.

Each cover began by sourcing reference photos (in addition to the many great images the author took on location). These were then digitally painted over and treated to create an aesthetic that was reminiscent of old fashioned film key art. Silhouetted characters and intricately layered scenes were used to create a sense of mystery and invite readers to delve into the rich tapestry of each story.

Working on these covers was quite an enjoyable experience, as we were able to really push the artistic nature of the works, and the end results were truly unique works of art.
